MARCHANGELS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR FIRST ANNUAL MARK STENBERG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Alyssa Orling!!!!!!

Alyssa Orling submitted an amazing essay of why she wants to continue to grow within the healthcare field.

Alyssa Orling was accepted to nursing school to obtain her Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing at a local college. She currently works as a CNA at a local hospital in the pediatric unit. Her future nursing goal is to continue working in pediatrics or the Mother Baby Unit. She states her biggest achievement so far is being a first-generation college student

"A career in healthcare is one of the most rewarding careers one can work in because you have the opportunity to care for such a diverse group of patients while truly making a difference in their lives. For me personally, I knew I always wanted to work in a field that involved science and one that helps people. Nursing is a great way to do both."

Mark Stenberg Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Rules:

The scholarship will be $1000

  • The scholarship can only be applied to tuition, fees, books, and other costs associated while attending classes at a school related to furthering education in the medical field.

  • The scholarship will be awarded 1 time each year.  â€‹

  • Scholarship submissions start May 1st of each year and end on June 30th. The scholarship recipient will be announced July 31st of that year. ​

  • Scholarships will be awarded AFTER the recipient is enrolled in a healthcare related program and paid directly to the school. 

  • School must be in Washington or Oregon and able to be verified. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a H.S. graduate or Senior in H.S.

  • The applicant must be going into training, graduate, undergraduate school related to healthcare. Examples include but are not limited to: CNA1/CNA2, LPN, RN, Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Etc

  • The applicant must submit a scholarship application and an essay of 500-1000 words effectively addressing these questions:

  1. Why did you choose the healthcare field?

  2. What are your future plans related to the healthcare field?

  3. Why should you be considered for this scholarship?

  4. What has been your biggest achievement in life so far?
